Interview with Brandi Salazar

Hey guys!

I have been in contact with an amazing author named Brandi Salazar. She has agreed upon having an interview with me, hosting a giveaway, and letting me review her book! :D So yay! The review will be of her book Spring Cleaning. The giveaway will be posted right after this.

Q: When did you first start writing?
A: I began writing at an early age, but I have been doing it seriously for about four years now.

Q: Is there a particular author that you look up to?
A: I can’t point to anyone specific, because all authors inspire me in some way, but I do have a fondness for authors like J.R. Ward and Richelle Mead, whose work I really enjoy.

Q: When did you decide that you wanted to become a writer?
A: I don’t know that I have ever really decided to become a writer. I kind of fell into it, and then just kept going.

Q: Where do you find your inspiration?
A: Anywhere. I find inspiration in the people around me, music, television and movies. You name it, I can usually pull something from it.

Q: Is there a specific playlist that you listen to while writing?
A: No. When I am writing, I am always searching for new music. I almost never listen to anything “old,” so it is always changing.

Q: Have you ever thought about turning your books into a graphic novel or movie?
A: I can’t say that I have, although that would be awesome! It would be interesting to see who would play someone like Randy from Spring Cleaning on the big screen.

Q: Are you working on a new book? If so what it is called and what is it about?
A: I am always working on something new. Currently, I am writing a story about an MMA fighter and the girl from his past under my pen name, J.C. Valentine, entitled “Knockout.”. It will be an adult romance, but how “adult” it will be remains to be seen.

Q: What inspires you to get out of bed every day?
A: That always is and always will be my family. As daunting as it is at times to rinse and repeat the same tasks each day, my kids will always be the reason I get out of bed each morning and make them breakfast and send them off to school, and my husband will always be the reason why I anticipate every afternoon when I get to see his face again.

Q: What is your favorite holiday?
A: I love Easter. It falls at the perfect time of year when everything is being rejuvenated. I enjoy the bright, cheerful feeling that comes with it—the egg hunts, the kids, the food, and all the tricky little ways to make them believe in magic.

Q: Lastly do you have any words of advice to our readers who are hoping to become a writer?
A: If you can honestly say that you can’t not write, then don’t let anything stop you. There will always be an opportunity to second guess yourself, but if at the end of the day you know it is what you have always wanted to do, then that is all that matters.

Author Info:
Brandi Salazar started writing poetry, short stories, and novels at a very young age, weaving tales to share with her friends that were geared toward making them laugh. Today her writing habits reflect that, ranging from mystery/suspense/thriller to paranormal and YA romance, and no matter how different her works may be, you can always find a healthy dose of action, romance, and humor. Under the pen name J.C. Valentine, she also writes erotic romance fiction.

A longtime resident of Ohio, Brandi lives with her husband, three children, a dog and five cats that keep her very busy. She holds a degree in Business and has plans to continue her education so she can one day become an editor to authors everywhere. When she isn’t crafting her next novel, toiling away at schoolwork, or hanging out with family, you can find her curled up in her favorite chair with her nose buried in a book.

Hey guys!

So, I made these petitions and was hoping you guys could sign. :D So here is a little bit about them and the links to sign them. Also they are as a html on the side of this blog. ----->

First petition:
School Uniforms. What child likes to wear uniforms? My friends and I certainly don't. There is no one in the schools that I've been to - and have a uniform - like to wear them. We believe that we all should have the right to dress. What if it is in the wash or drying and you can't go to the store to buy it? What will you do? All you can do is get in trouble. They don't accept excuses. Some schools just give you a warning. However, some schools give you detention for it! Now, who wants that?! You may just wear the wrong shoes by accident or wrong jacket. Well, there's nothing you can do about it. You're doomed! So sign this petition to get rid of the awful uniforms! Link: http://www.change.org/petitions/schools-no-more-uniforms
